Our UK office currently (June 2017) has a vacancy for the position of Production Unit Manager (PTFE Moulding) The Company: We are long established specialists in the design, development and manufacture of PTFE Products and components serving a broad range of industries world-wide including laboratory, pharmaceutical, chemical processing, food & drink, semi-conductor and aerospace. We focus on products which demand a highly specialised knowledge of PTFE and the application of PTFE products, mainly for niche markets, particularly chemical related applications where we seek to provide workable solutions to design and manufacturing problems. Our combination of technical excellence in processing PTFE and detailed attention to meeting our customer’s requirements, has led to us being respected market leaders in our field with a reputation for being experts in PTFE and the use of PTFE products. The Role: We have a current vacancy for a Production Unit Manager for our busy PTFE Moulding Unit where we are looking to recruit a proven and motivational Manufacturing Unit Manager with a strong technical base and excellent organisational and management skills. The Moulding Unit is responsible for converting granular PTFE into solid rod, billets and near-shape and encapsulated mouldings utilising compression and isostatic moulding techniques. These mouldings are then passed to our Precision Machining Unit for further processing. The Moulding Unit Manager has responsibility for all moulding operations and will be required to provide strong and focussed leadership to the moulding department to ensure output, efficiency and quality objectives are achieved. Responsibility for departmental man-management, house-keeping and health & safety is also a requirement. Additionally, the Moulding Manager will be expected to contribute to recommendations and the implementation of continuous improvement activities to improve skill, output, efficiency and quality within the department. Ideal Person: Due to the unique technology of PTFE moulding we do not expect candidates to have previous experience of working in a PTFE moulding operation, but you must have both the willingness and capability of learning this technology. Accordingly, the successful candidate must have a minimum HND in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, materials science or physics. It is also essential that the Moulding Manager is a hands-on, motivational man-manager and excellent communicator with the ability to make accurate judgements and identify appropriate courses of action to meet both short and long term objectives.
